WWE News: Jason Jordan comments on missing out on WrestleMania 34
What's the story?
Earlier today, WWE Raw superstar and Kurt Angle's on-screen son Jason Jordan took to social media, reacting to the news of him being omitted from this year’s WrestleMania 34 card, following a gruesome neck injury.
In case you didn't know…
Ever since his main roster call-up in 2016, Jason Jordan has had quite the journey on both Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live. Jordan, who first started out on the blue brand with his fellow, now former American Alpha tag-team partner Chad Gable, went on to capture the SD Live Tag Team Championships.
However last year, he was drafted to Raw as part of the storyline where he was revealed as Angle's illegitimate child. Following his shift to the red brand, Jordan would then go on to win the Raw Tag Team titles alongside Seth Rollins.
The heart of the matter
Within the span of a year, Jordan went from an uncertain tag team partner to a singles superstar, who was eventually expected to get his own one-on-one match at "The Grandest Stage of Them All", that is WrestleMania.
However, his road to April's showpiece event took an unexpected halt when he had to undergo neck surgery in order to repair his recent injury.
As noted, Jordan reacted to the news on his official Twitter account whilst providing everyone with a further update regarding his current condition.
Understandably frustrated by his inability to compete in the biggest show of the year, the 29-year-old claims that this will not stop him as he looks to make a comeback and be better than ever before upon returning.
What's next?
Kurt Angle's announcement on this week's edition of Raw confirmed that Jordan will miss WrestleMania 34. Apparently, the original plans for him were to square off in a one-on-one match against his tag team partner Rollins.
However this major setback will not only affect his progression but equally that of Rollins, who himself missed WrestleMania back in 2016 through a lengthy knee injury.
Author's take
It really is a sad time when you see a WWE superstar miss out on the biggest wrestling event of the year through injury, but we wish Jason Jordan a speedy recovery and also endeavour to keep up updated with the latest news on his well-being.
