What’s the story?

On a recent edition of Interactive Wrestling Radio, Jay Lethal addressed Samoa Joe’s comments on wanting the former to join WWE.

On that note, Lethal jested that Joe simply wanted him to carry his bags in the WWE; however, he later complimented the Destroyer for 'being amazing'.

When asked about potentially signing with the WWE, Lethal revealed that he hadn't been involved in too many conversations with anyone forms WWE and that he was quite content with Ring of Honor.

In case you didn’t know…

Jay Lethal, whose real name is Jamar Shipman, is perhaps best known for his time in TNA (now-GFW) and ROH.

The 32-year-old enjoys widespread popularity and respect in the professional wrestling community, owing to his excellent ring skills and mic-work.

The heart of the matter

Jay Lethal heaped loads of praise on ROH star Silas Young, besides reminiscing about his conversations with Randy Savage on Lethal’s ‘Black Machismo’ character.

Besides, Lethal spoke about the surreal moments he had during his time in TNA; meeting the likes of Hulk Hogan and Rick Flair. Furthermore, on the topic of Samoa Joe wanting Lethal in WWE, Jay explained:

“Joe is amazing! I've had very, very, very limited conversations with anyone from the WWE. Neither of which lead to anything major or with any kind of promise.”

“I'm extremely happy with everything that I have been able to do in wrestling which makes me extremely happy where I am right now which is in Ring of Honor."

What’s next?

Jay Lethal presently performs for ROH—an organization where he’s previously held multiple titles including the ROH World Championship.

Author’s take

Jay Lethal is a thorough professional and an exceptional talent.

Should he ever decide to follow Samoa Joe’s advice and cross over to the WWE, his Black Machismo character aka a redo of the original Macho Man gimmick, would be super-over with the WWE Universe.
