WWE News: Jeff Hardy and his wife post on social media for the first time after arrest
What's the story?
To say that the past few months have been rough for Jeff Hardy would be an understatement. After being sidelined as a result of identical tears in his Labrum and Rotator Cuff, the Charismatic Enigma was arrested a few days back on a DWI charge.
Hardy's wife took to Twitter to reveal that she dropped her husband off at the Pinehurst Surgical in Pinehurst yesterday for his final appointment.
Brother Nero too reacted on Instagram for the first time since his arrest but nothing about the incident was mentioned in the post.
In case you didn't know...
Hardy suffered a grade-a tear in his labrum and rotator cuff in September last year and as mentioned by the man himself, is free to return to training.
However, a minor car accident under the influence of alcohol led to the former WWE Champion being arrested by the local police department. A DWI charge has been slapped on Hardy with his license also being suspended for a period of 60 days.
Additionally, Hardy will have to go through a WWE-sponsored rehab before he makes his comeback to the ring.
The heart of the matter
Jeff was reportedly set to return to the performance center to begin training for his return to action but a mandatory rehab stint may delay the inevitable.
Hardy not acknowledging seems strange and we should expect to get a statement from the former WWE Tag Team Champion after the local authorities complete their investigation.
There's still no word on how Hardy's arrest has affected WWE's plans regarding his return but he was part of the Ultimate Deletion match filming at the Hardy Compound. The match is scheduled to take place next week on Raw and will have the entire Hardy platoon along with Jeff in their WOKEN avatars.
What's next?
Both the updates from Jeff and his wife paint a promising picture when it comes to Brother Nero's future. A rehab stint coupled with his training should help Hardy get things under control before he is thrust back into the limelight on Raw, which should ideally happen after WrestleMania 34.
Author's take
It's a pity that Hardy just can't keep himself out of trouble just when things were getting back on track in the wake of an unfortunate injury. Hopefully, the latest setback works as a stern reminder for Hardy going forward.
