What's the story

Jeff Hardy has dazzled the professional wrestling world since even before he was legally allowed to perform in the ring. All of that damage to his body has to take a toll on the 40-year-old WWE Superstar. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports he is working with an injured shoulder which may require surgery.

In case you didn't know

The Hardy Boyz made a name for themselves with the incredible risks they would take in the ring. Dubbed Team Xtreme, alongside Lita, the Hardy Brothers were the highlight of many events. Every night they left it all in the ring and put their bodies on the line.

These brothers from North Carolina started their WWE careers as enhancement talent but soon found a dedicated fan base. The fans were more than excited to see the Hardy Boyz return home to WWE as surprise entrants in the ladder match for the Raw Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 33.

The heart of the matter

The Hardy Boyz have been a special part of WWE programming since their return. We pay very close attention to everything they do in order to see a hint of their former Broken gimmick peeking through. So far there have been teases, especially on social media but they're still the Hardy Boyz.

Any future plans for the Hardys might have hit a snag as Pro Wrestling Sheet reports Jeff Hardy could be injured. His shoulder has reportedly been bothering him quite a bit which caused him to be pulled from WWE's house show on Friday night. The Hardy Boyz were scheduled to face The Club but due to Jeff's injury, Matt wrestled Karl Anderson in a singles match.

It's unclear whether Jeff Hardy will require surgery at this point but we'll know more when he gets looked at by WWE's doctors. But sources say surgery is certainly a possibility.

After all, he did appear to be holding his shoulder in pain during Raw this past week so this is likely an injury which was just gotten out of hand and might need addressing.

What's next

It would be nice if Jeff Hardy's injury is something that can be taken care of with some rest and relaxation. He should obviously take it easy, but hopefully, surgery isn't the only way to fix this issue.

Author's take

I respect professional wrestlers so much for this exact reason. They give their bodies to fans in the ring for the sake of entertainment. Jeff Hardy has certainly done some damage to himself during his career and it might have been too much once again.

For all we know, Jeff could have been wrestling while enduring the pain for quite a while. But if it's gotten to the point where he needs to be pulled from a match it must be bad, especially for Jeff Hardy.
