WWE News: Jeff Hardy returns to Raw in spectacular fashion
What's the story?
The episode of Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania is one known for returns and debuts. The episode saw members of the NXT Roster debut on the main roster, with Ember Moon and No Way Jose both making appearances to name but a few.
In another moment of the night, a former main roster member returned to Raw. Jeff Hardy was injured late in 2017 and had to undergo surgery, which kept him out of action for more than 6 months. He returned to in-ring action on the Raw after WrestleMania.
In case you didn't know...
Jeff Hardy returned to WWE alongside his brother Matt last year at WrestleMania. Together, they won the Raw Tag Team Championships and continued to defend them. They lost the titles later on, and Jeff would suffer an injury in September that would result in him being out of action for the rest of the year.
Matt went back to solo competition and took up his former 'Broken' persona in a new 'Woken' avatar. He entered a long drawn out feud with Bray Wyatt. At WrestleMania, Matt Hardy was helped by his former opponent, when Bray returned to help him win his Andre 'The Giant' Memorial Battle Royal.
The heart of the matter
During a segment on Raw after Wrestlemania 34, The Miz and his Miztourage challenged Seth Rollins and Finn Balor to a Handicap Match. Jeff Hardy interrupted the segment with his surprise return and sided with Rollins and Balor.
He faced Miz and the Miztourage later that night alongside Rollins and Balor in a Six Man Tag Team Match which they won. After the match was over, Jeff hit two Swanton Bombs on Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas.
What's next?
Now that Jeff is back, it is likely that he will take on a Singles Role. Matt seems to be in for a run with Bray Wyatt as his partner and that does not leave a place for Jeff by his side immediately. However, in a backstage segment, Jeff met Bray and Matt. With no friction shown between the three during the segment, there is a chance that the three men may form a 'Woken' Faction at some point in time.
Author's take
Jeff Hardy is always an excellent star to have on the roster. With his fast-paced exciting offense, if left on his own he will soon be competing for a Singles Title. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt's storyline is intriguing at the moment and we will have to wait to see if there is a place for Jeff in it.
