In case you didn't know...
The Greatest Royal Rumble event is part of a partnership between WWE and the Saudi General Sports Authority in support of a Saudi Arabian social and economic reform program. The show will feature a 50-man Royal Rumble as well as 7 Championship matches.
However, no women's matches have been advertised and the two women's titles will probably not be defended at the show.
The heart of the matter
When asked about the Greatest Royal Rumble event, Lawler said: " I'm going over there to Saudi Arabia. There is a possibility that JR and I will do some commentary on it."
The WWE Hall of Famer also hinted that he could actually wrestle in the eponymous Royal Rumble match. "There's a good possibility that my music will be playing. maybe we can get me off that no-touch list for the world's biggest Royal Rumble, that would be great. Then I'll know I've made it in wrestling (laughs)," he said.
What's next?
The Greatest Royal Rumble will take place on April 27, 2018, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is expected to air on the WWE Network. Several reports suggest that legends such as Chris Jericho and The Undertaker could make appearances at the event.
Author's take
Since the Greatest Royal Rumble is an attempt by WWE to improve its reach in a new market, there is a possibility that there could be a title change on the show. As for the actual 50-man match, it's hard to see anyone but Roman Reigns coming away with the victory.
