WWE News: Jerry 'The King' Lawler arrested
Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and his 27-year-old girlfriend, Lauryn McBride, were both arrested at their Memphis home on Thursday for allegedly beating each other up, Fox 13 Memphis reported.
Lawler and McBride have been living together since 2011 and admitted that they started the violent fight inside their kitchen.
McBride accused Lawler of shoving her up against the kitchen counter and hit her in the head. He then went upstairs and brought down a handgun. She also claimed that he allegedly told her “Go ahead and kill yourself”.
On the other hand, Lawler said McBride was the attacker and claimed that she scratched his face, kicked him in the groin and chucked a candle at him in a drunken rage. She also fetched the handgun from the house’s garage and placed it in the kitchen, he said.
Both their claims have left the cops unable to determine who the aggressor was.
Lawler joined the WWE (WWF) in 1992 and was inducted into the WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2007. At present, he works as a commentator for the company. WWE are yet to release a statement on the issue.
