WWE News: Jim Ross believes Brock Lesnar is not done with UFC yet
While Brock Lesnar's fascinating UFC 200 victory was quickly overshadowed by the news of his failed drug tests, there is no denying that it still brought a huge amount of media coverage and made an immense amount of money for the people involved.
Due to this, there are many people who believe that we have not seen the last of Brock Lesnar fighting in the UFC and the Beast will return inside the Octagon for at least one more time.
During his recent interview with TSN Canada, the former WWE commentator Jim Ross shared his thoughts on Lesnar and UFC.
Ross said that Brock is strongly going to consider to stretch his UFC career some more once his WWE contract expires because of the money involved. He said:
“I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Lesnar fighting. Even if he’s in his early 40s – say, 40 or 41 – when his WWE contract expires – and I don’t know that to be fact – I think he will strongly consider more UFC because there’s going to be a lot of money waiting for him for a one-time shot to see what he’s got left in the tank. And he sells pay-per-views. He’s like CM Punk. He sold pay-per-views and that was part of the bottom line in hiring both of those guys.”
It's notable here that according to speculations, Lesnar earned an estimated $8 Million from his latest UFC appearance including the cult of PPV revenue.
In fact, even CM Punk, who was defeated by Mickey Gall during his UFC debut at UFC 203 event reportedly took home around $500,000 despite losing his match in less than 3 minutes.
As Ross noted due to the money which would be at stake for Lesnar for a one-night appearance at a future UFC event, it's more than likely that the 1 in 23-1 would consider UFC as an option once his WWE contract expires.
On the other hand, it would also be a profitable deal for UFC officials because of the box office attraction Brock has consistently proved to be.
Although it's also worth noticing here that the on screen advocate of Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman suggested in a recent interview that Lesnar is completely focused on his Wrestling career and he is not going anywhere else.
Also considering the fact that Brock Lesnar would be 40 something at the time of his contract expiration and in the wake of the recent controversy over his failed drug tests, it's very much possible that the former WWE champion would go for another WWE deal over a UFC contract.
