WWE News: Jim Ross feels John Cena may never wrestle full time again
WWE superstar John Cena has been away from action for close to two months since competing in a triple threat match for the WWE World Championship against AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose at the No Mercy pay-per-view this October. The reason for his absence is the fact that he is currently hosting a TV show named American Grit.
In a recent blog, legendary WWE commentator and Hall of Famer Jim Ross suggested that Cena may be treading the same path as The Rock and may not remain a full-time competitor in the business anymore. According to Ross, though, the 15-time world champion will continue to remain faithful to the WWE as it is the place where he earned all his fame.
“It seems that John Cena is travelling much the same road that Dwayne Johnson has taken in his post-WWE life which I applaud. Just like @TheRock, @JohnCena is and always will be a WWE guy who may never wrestle a full-time schedule again, likely not IMO, but will always be loyal to the company that helped launch his amazing career,” wrote Good Ol’ JR in his blog.
He also claimed that any sensible wrestler would be ready to trade his or her current life for that of a movie or TV star. Ross stated the following:
“I know of no wrestler with reasonable sanity that is that would not trade the bumping and the road schedule, etc for the life of a TV or movie personality. Would you? I didn't think so.”
Ever since he became a WWE superstar, John Cena has been making appearances in films as well as television. However, with an increase in the amount of time that Cena is devoting to his alternate career, his in-ring time has reduced considerably.
Here is the trailer for John Cena’s upcoming film named The Wall:
