WWE News: Jim Ross provides sad update on the aftermath of his wife's passing

A
A horrible outcome

What's the story?

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has revealed on social media that the charges against the 17-year-old who killed Jim's wife Jan in a car accident last year, have been dropped.

In case you didn't know...

Jan Ross passed away in March last year after her Vespa was hit by the driver in Norman, Oklahoma as she was driving to the local gym. Jan was driving at 9:33 p.m. when she was struck from behind by a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis, which was driven by a 17-year-old male. Jan was not wearing her helmet and suffered multiple skull fractures after being hit by the car, and would later pass away due to traumatic brain injury at the Oklahoma University Medical Center. The 17-year-old was not injured.

Amazingly, Jim Ross still made his scheduled appearances during the WrestleMania weekend in Orlando at Wrestlecon and his 'An Evening With Jim Ross' one man shows just 3 weeks later.

The heart of the matter

Truly a horrific situation, but unfortunately the judge's decision is final. According to Ross, the 17-year-old didn't even have his license taken away from him which is pretty despicable. Publicly all this young fellow has received is merely a slap on the wrist. We, and Jim Ross, can only hope that the teenager is suffering at the thought of what he did. Below is what Jim Ross tweeted about the ruling.

What’s next?

Jim Ross will be reuniting with Jerry Lawler for the 25th Anniversary of RAW this Monday night. The WWE Raw 25th Anniversary show takes place on 22 January 2018, in both the Barclays Center and Manhattan Center in New York. JR and the King are expected to call at least one match together and will also be appearing on the pre-show.

Author’s take

Truly horrific but as previously mentioned, the judge's decision is final. I hope JR has been keeping his mind off the travesty and the ruling, with his podcast and other appearances.
