WWE News: Jim Ross reveals whether he will appear at the 25th Anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw
What’s the story?
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross confirmed that he will be appearing at the 25th Anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw. He also noted that fellow Hall of Famer Jim Lawler is also booked for the show. You can see JR’s tweet below.
In case you didn't know…
JR came back to WWE back 2017 after a short hiatus from the promotion. He provided commentary for the WrestleMania 33 main event between Undertaker and Roman Reigns and was also seen collaborating with Lita for the Mae Young Classic along with an NXT appearance at Takeover: Chicago.
Meanwhile, Lawler has been appearing for WWE every now and then. He last appeared on the August 28, 2017, episode of Monday Night Raw where he filled in for Booker T.
The heart of the matter
When asked by a fan about his status for the 25th-anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw, Jim Ross confirmed that he and Jerry Lawler were booked for the show.
He went on to add that the exact nature of their work on the episode is still to be declared.
What’s next?
The 25th-anniversary show of Monday Night Raw is scheduled to take place on January 22nd. The show will take place at both the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom, which was the venue for the first episode of Raw.
Many big names like Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash are being advertised for the show.
Author’s take
The 25th-anniversary show of Monday Night Raw would have been incomplete without the presence of JR and Lawler. Both men are legendary in their own right and their contributions to the professional wrestling business cannot be undermined.
It would be exciting to see how WWE decides to use these two as there are many possibilities. JR calling the Undertaker segment would be a classic moment and just like the case with WrestleMania, such a thing would make the fans happy.
