WWE News: Jimmy Wang Yang in talks with the WWE?
With the brand split approaching near, WWE has reached out to a lot of its former Superstars for a possible return. With various high profile names like Shelton Benjamin and Kurt Angle making rounds, it is no wonder that this WWE Superstar got left out by the rumour mongers.
Jimmy Wang Yang, aka Akio, was backstage at this week’s Raw in Columbus, Ohio. He indicated that he had a meeting with Vince McMahon by posting the below picture on Facebook.
He also said, “Waiting on my meeting ?#?RAW? ?#?JWYorAKIO? ?#?Partybuses?,” in the Facebook post indicating that in all accounts that he is returning to the WWE either as Akio or Jimmy Wang Yang.
It is highly probable that the WWE would re-hire Jimmy Wang Yang as they are in dire need of experienced Superstars. While Yang has never won a championship in his career, he has been #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Title for a number of times. Yang can work both as a heel and babyface, thus allowing young Superstars to him as a stepping ladder in the process of building themselves.
It would be interesting to see if Yang gets a title run at least this time around. Surely he has put in a lot of hard work and has loads of experience, but with the current pool of talents in WWE it would be a long shot for Yang to have a title run.
