WWE News: Jinder Mahal speaks his mind on his possible face-turn
What's the story?
During his recent tour to India, the current WWE World Champion Jinder Mahal took part in an interview with ESPN, wherein he spoke about a potential face-turn in the future.
In case you didn't know...
A few weeks ago, Jinder flew to India from the US, to promote WWE's upcoming Live Event in December at New Delhi. Jinder took part in a myriad of promotional activities in New Delhi & Mumbai.
The heart of the matter
ESPN asked Mahal his thoughts on turning face in the future, to which, Mahal replied:
"The WWE is like any other sport. But I consider it to be an art form. I consider myself an artist. I can play a character but I consider myself a world-class athlete. That's the beauty of the WWE, it brings the best of both worlds."
Mahal further added that the WWE creates a unique product by mixing athleticism and theatrics derived from both, Hollywood & Bollywood. Mahal concluded his answer by saying that personally, he can no longer wait to play a babyface.
What's next?
After successfully defending his title against Shinsuke Nakamura at Hell in a Cell, Mahal decided to up the ante by challenging the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar to a "Champion vs Champion Match" at November's Survivor Series PPV. Brock Lesnar will give Mahal his answer on this week's edition of Monday Night RAW.
Unfortunately, there'll be no rest for the champion because immediately after Survivor Series, The Modern Day Maharaja will defend his title against Kevin Owens this December, at WWE's Live Event in New Delhi.
Author's take
Mahal's no Picasso in the ring, but the guy's improved a lot on the mic. He has been instrumental in bringing the Maharaja character to life, and thus it will be interesting to see Jinder work with that character as a babyface.
