WWE News: Joe-Balor feud ends at NXT Takeover: Revenge

The rivalry will end at NXT Takeover: Revenge

In a shocking turn of events, yesterday at 11 am ET, NXT General Manager William Regal made an announcement in NXT’s official Facebook page that surprised the WWE universe. The announcement had a lot of possible future implications that could even affect the storylines in WWE main roster.

The feud between NXT Champion Samoa Joe and Finn Balor reached a boiling point this past week on NXT. A locker room emptying brawl broke out between them and both the superstars were raging beyond control. Later, William Regal announced that he will be making an announcement regarding the championship match on May 17th.

As per announcement, William Regal, Finn Balor and NXT Champion Samoa Joe appeared on Facebook yesterday. William Regal announced that the match will be the first ever steel cage match that happened in NXT. He also said that this will be the end of this rivalry. Watch the announcement of William Regal below.

Though the stipulation had not surprised most people (there were rumours about the stipulation for a while), the other part of the announcement shocked a lot of people. Though the feud between Balor and Joe has been going on for a while, the feud still had room to grow. But, this announcement that the steel cage match would be the end to this rivalry has created much speculation.

With the feud ending now, it is highly probable that one of these two top NXT Superstars will soon make a main roster debut. Given the situation within the main roster, Finn Balor would be the obvious choice. Finn Balor’s history with Gallows and Anderson has been long documented and talked upon. With AJ Styles heading into his Extreme Rules match with injuries on his ankle and back, we can soon expect AJ to take some time off to heal and Balor to debut on the main roster.
