WWE News: John Cena announces next big performance
What's the story?
John Cena revealed on his official Facebook page that he will be hosting a one-man show titled ‘An Evening with John Cena: The Untold Story, in His Words’ in Australia this July. During the show, the WWE superstar will talk about the highs and lows of his life.
The background
Fondly referred to as ‘The Champ’, Cena has been a mainstay of the WWE for nearly 15 years. During his eventful career, he has locked horns with the best in the business and won the World title on 16 occasions.
Last month, at Wrestlemania 33, he teamed up with Nikki Bella to defeat The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag match. After the match, he popped the question to Bella and gave his fans a big reason to rejoice.
The heart of the matter
Cena took to Facebook and confirmed that he will be hosting a one-man show titled ‘An Evening with John Cena: The Untold Story, in His Words’ in Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney, this July. During the ‘special evening’, he will talk about his life as a pro wrestler and a movie star.
Cena is an ‘A-List’ celeb in his own right. He’s starred in popular films such as Sisters and The Marine, to name a few. In 2016, he served as the executive producer and host of the reality show American Grit and added another feather to his cap. As such, his one-man show is bound to create a buzz amongst casual and die-hard fans alike.
What’s next?
Cena has been missing from WWE programming since Wrestlemania 33. He could make his eagerly-awaited comeback at the Money in the Bank PPV this June. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Author’s take
Whether we like it not, Cena’s time as an in-ring performer is slowly but surely coming to an end.
However, I feel that the erstwhile ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ still has a few good matches left in him. As such, I hope that he returns to WWE programming ASAP and begins his next feud.
