What's the story?

We all know that WWE has a huge fanbase in India. According to Mr. Canyon Ceman, who is the Senior Director for Talent Development for WWE, India has a television viewership of 50 million for RAW and SmackDown Live every single week.

John Cena and many other WWE Superstars teamed up to wish every Indian a very happy Republic Day. The video was posted on WWE India's Twitter account.

In case you didn't know...

WWE has been a huge phenomenon in India for many years now. WWE has been present in India for many years now, hosting Live Events as far back as the 90s.

More recently, WWE has decided to recruit Indian talent and develop them into full-fledged superstars. Kavita Devi, most notably, is an active part of the NXT roster and was in India recently scouting for the next batch of talent.

Tryouts will be held in Mumbai, in March, and plans for a Performance Center in the country could soon get underway.

The heart of the matter

John Cena wasn't the only Superstar who wished the WWE Universe in India a very happy Republic Day in the following video. Mustafa Ali, Carmella, R-Truth, Rusev and Lana joined in the fun as well, with the former WWE Champion, AJ Styles:

Rusev asked every Indian to celebrate Republic Day just like he celebrates Rusev Day on a daily basis. He asked his fanbase in India to be themselves, and do whatever they may wish to. Unfortunately, unlike Rusev Day, Republic Day does not happen every day.

What's next?

India is slowly becoming a hotbed for WWE operations. Could we see NXT India in the country very soon? Everything seems to point towards this dream actually becoming a reality for Indian fans.

Happy Republic Day to every Indian from Sportskeeda Wrestling!
