WWE News: John Cena has taken his seat for WrestleMania, and he really is in with the fans
What's the story?
After unsuccessfully calling out The Undertaker over the past month, John Cena was left with no WrestleMania match.
True to his word, John Cena has taken his seat for the show as a spectator - with photos emerging all over social media of the 16-time World Champion joining the WWE Universe ahead of the show of shows!
In case you didn't know...
John Cena proposed to Nikki Bella after their Mixed Tag Team Match against The Miz and Maryse at last year's WrestleMania. But, after losing in the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Fastlane WWE Championship Matches, Cena was left with no match on this year's 'Grandest Stage of Them All'.
Cena has spent the past four weeks calling out The Undertaker but to no avail. The match, thus far, is still up in the air.
The heart of the matter
WWE's programmes and posters hint that the 'unscheduled' match between John Cena and Undertaker is happening, but Cena is staying true to form and going all-in on his "attending WrestleMania as a fan" statement.
In fact, Cena isn't even front row or in a director's box. He is truly IN the crowd.
What's next?
Well, WrestleMania is next! Will Undertaker appear and call out Cena?
We'll have to wait and see.
Author's take
This is awesome. It's great that Cena is actually sitting right in the middle of the crowd and it's pretty cool that he's even gone so far as to wear a WrestleMania shirt like a true fan, rather than his usual attire.
WWE are really doing everything to swerve the fans here, and the pop Undertaker will get if (when) he eventually comes out to confirm the match is great. It's also a bonus for the fans who get to meet Cena and be in the crowd. A really cool added touch!
