WWE News: John Cena to work with Robert Downey Jr. in a movie
What's the story?
John Cena is slowly climbing his way to the top in the Hollywood. He has moved away from a full-time role in WWE over the preceding months and has assumed the role of a part-timer. Although he has been appearing regularly ahead of WrestleMania 34, he is again scheduled for some time away from the company after WWE's biggest show of the year.
He has now bagged another role in the upcoming movie, where he will be working alongside Hollywood greats including Avenger's Superstar Robert Downey Jr., Octavia Spencer, Marion Cotillard and Tom Holland in 'The Voyage of Dr Dolittle'.

Cena's role on the WWE roster has been reduced over the course of recent years. He has instead shifted his focus from WWE to Hollywood, where was part of Blockbusters like Daddy's Home 2. The last movie he played a Voice Acting role in was Ferdinand, which was nominated for an Oscar.
The film also stars Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland, both of whom are geared up for the coming release of Avengers: Infinity War this April. Infinity War is one of the most anticipated movies of all time, coming as the 19th Movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Voyage of Dr Dolittle coming in the aftermath of their roles in Infinity War is sure to attract massive fan attention.
The heart of the matter
John Cena has achieved success in Hollywood, following in the footsteps of other WWE Superstars who went mainstream such as Dwane 'the Rock' Johnson and Dave Bautista. In the movie, he is set to play as 'Yoshi', a polar bear. Robert Downey Jr., who plays Dr Dolittle, announced the cast of the movie on Twitter, and the film is set to release on the 24th of May in 2019.
John Cena reacted to his inclusion in the movie on Twitter as well, cracking a lame joke and thanking the Dolittle family.
What's next?
The movie is set to be released on the 24th of May in 2019. More recently John Cena will be in the crowd at WrestleMania as a fan, where it is expected that The Undertaker will confront him.

Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland's upcoming project Avengers: Infinity War, is set to release on the 27th of April, where the stellar cast also includes former WWE Champion, and Cena's rival, Dave Bautista.
It will be interesting to see Cena getting a role alongside industry leaders like Robert Downey Jr, and this may be his big break in the works. Robert Downey Jr.'s presence in the lead role is sure to attract huge crowds. On top of that Cena has the chance to learn from one of the top actors in the industry.
This may lead to further bigger roles for him, and it might be hoping for too much, but maybe even a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. He may have missed out on starring as 'Shazam!' in the DC Cinematic Universe, but any role in Marvel would be a huge deal at the moment.
