What’s the story?

On a recent edition of X-Pac’s podcast X-Pac 12360, Johnny Gargano opened up on a myriad of topics.

Gargano had words of high praise for co-performer Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. Also, Gargano spoke about a few indie talents he’d love to see in the WWE, as well as the experience of working with his wife Candice LeRae in WWE.

In case you didn’t know…

Johnny Gargano has been competing in the WWE’s NXT brand since 2015.

Meanwhile, his wife Candice LeRae made her professional wrestling debut back in 2002, and after partaking in WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament last year, she now performs as an NXT Superstar.

The heart of the matter

Johnny Gargano, who recently came up short in his bid to dethrone NXT Champion Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas, asserted that it’s always a pleasure to get in the ring with Almas. Gargano added that it’s great working with Almas as both of them are like-minded. He also stated that when you have two performers who’re willing to leave it all in the ring, that’s when pro-wrestling magic truly comes about. Gargano also spoke about working with his wife in WWE—

"I get to go out there and live my dream and to do it alongside my wife and watch her live her dream as well. A year ago actually—last September—I teamed with her in my final indie match, I wrestled her and then teamed with her, that was my last indie match in Cleveland, Ohio, and we didn't know what would happen in the future, what we thought was that this could potentially be the last time we would be in the ring together and she definitely thought it was.”

“I always held hope that the day would come, and here we are almost a year later teaming together in an NXT ring, it’s pretty wild and it's super cool, and like I said, it's a dream come true."

Furthermore, Gargano opined that he’d love to see indie wrestlers such as Gregory Iron, M-Dogg 20, Matt Cross, Chuck Taylor and ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page showcase their skills in the WWE.

What’s next?

Johnny Gargano and his wife Candice LeRae are presently involved in a feud against NXT Champion Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and his manager/valet Zelina Vega—with the feud set to continue on NXT in the days to come.

Author’s take

It’s awesome to see Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae live out their dream in the WWE.

Besides, given the fact that they’re highly talented and more importantly one of the most adaptable performers in all of pro-wrestling today, perhaps the Garganos could ascend to the top of the WWE food chain over the next 4-5 years.
