WWE News: Justin Roberts claims that backstage bullying is encouraged in WWE

Justin Roberts claims JBL bullied him in WWE

What’s the story?

Justin Roberts has written a new book called Best Seat in the House. The book goes in-depth about his experiences and memories from the world of WWE. In this book, Roberts claims that WWE encourages bullying. He said that JBL bullied him, on several occasions, without any consequences.

In case you don’t know...

JBL has a long history of bullying people in WWE. He was caught on camera shooting on Blue Meanie at One Night Stand 2005.

The Miz and Edge, who are big names in the world of sports entertainment, claim to have been bullied by the former Acolyte on several occasions. Even though he is no longer an active wrestler, JBL has still been accused of bullying people on several occasions.

The heart of the matter

Justin Roberts claims that JBL stole his passport in Manchester and made him miss his flight back to the USA. Roberts then claims he had to fly back to London and go to the U.S. embassy to get another passport.

“I had to fly to London and go to the U.S. embassy to get a new passport. Once I got a new passport, I took the train to the airport, and eventually got a flight back. I travelled from London to Boston, Boston to Phoenix, then drove from Phoenix to Tuscon for SmackDown”.

What’s next?

When asked about the Roberts rumour, JBL said that the former ring announcer was hated by everyone and then proceeded to call Roberts an idiot.

The former WWE Champion denied allegations of bullying Mauro and said that he only played a heel on TV.

JBL is still SmackDown’s colour commentator. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that we might not see Mauro in the WWE again.

Author’s take

Considering WWE is a publicly-traded company with a prominent anti-bullying campaign, these stories are not a good look for the company. WWE claims that it is a fun and friendly place to work, though the constant accusations that come out suggest otherwise.

Both Justin Roberts and Mauro Ranallo were very talented at their jobs, and it is hard to see how testing their mental toughness is relevant to what they do. As several people have said in the past, the higher-ups in WWE just like getting laughs at the expense of others.
