WWE News: Kalisto reportedly injured on SmackDown Live

Kalisto is a former US Champion.

WWE’s resident luchador Kalisto might have been injured last night following his match against Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews for the #1 contendership for the Intercontinental. Kalisto was helped to the back by trainers following his match but it might not be clear at this time on the severity of said injury. The match itself was won by Apollo Crews who pinned Kalisto for the win.

Kalisto hasn’t had a good couple of weeks after being split from his fellow Lucha Dragons tag-team partner Sin Cara and being drafted to WWE SmackDown despite the Cruiserweight Division being on Raw. His post-draft promo was also a complete disaster.

 

Kalisto has long been seen as the heir apparent to Rey Mysterio but the way he has been booked over the last few months has left him void of any sort of momentum. His run with the US title last year was also a complete disaster and devalued the title which John Cena had spent so long revitalizing.

 

There is still hope for Kalisto in SmackDown to be one of the most exciting performers on the blue brand but WWE has to help Kalisto by accentuating his positives and hiding the negatives.
