WWE News: Kane makes return at WWE Live event
What's the story?
After it was reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that Kane was backstage at RAW in Anaheim last week, the Big Red Machine made his WWE return at a house show in Kalamazoo last night.
In case you didn't know...
Kane was recently written off TV the night after the Royal Rumble during a Last Man Standing Match with Braun Strowman when The Monster Among Men toppled part of the stage and commentary table on top of Kane.
The Big Red Machine was taken to a nearby hospital but it was later reported that he left on his own accord and could not be found.
Glenn Jacobs, Kane, is running for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee this year and recently appeared on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast and in a special appearance with the Undertaker to generate publicity.
The heart of the matter
Well, Kane didn't return on RAW but he did make his return during a live event last night to face off against Strowman.
The match is said to have gone for around eight minutes, with Braun Strowman picking up the win and Kane making his exit pretty quickly thereafter.
What's next?
For Glenn Jacobs' mayoral campaign, the primary election will be in May with the general election taking place in August.
For Kane, The Big Red Machine is booked for several live events this month. Will we see him back on RAW? Only time will tell.
Author's take
Well, it's always great to see Kane back in WWE.
While a lot of the mystique has gone and the legend isn't quite in the shape he was ten or twenty years ago, The Big Red Machine is still a huge crowd favourite and well respected for being the ultimate pro.
You can expect these appearances now to be few and far between, particularly if Jacobs becomes mayor of Knoxville, so we should definitely appreciate Kane's appearances and how much he's put over Braun Strowman since coming back.
There's no word yet how long Kane will be around, and if he returns to TV or just does live events, but I still wish we'd have gotten Kane v Undertaker in a double retirement match to end the story full circle, but maybe putting over Strowman on the way out is much more effective in the long run.
