WWE News: Karl Anderson reacts to Finn Balor's revelation; jokes about Demon gimmick
What’s the story?
As we had previously reported, Finn Balor revealed details about his Demon character, and the manner in which his plan of having fans hate and be scared of the Demon persona backfired.
Apparently, Karl Anderson got wind of Balor explaining how the former discouraged him from pursuing the Demon gimmick and has now taken to social media to make light of the revelation -
In case you didn’t know…
Karl Anderson and Finn Balor are both perhaps best known for their extensive repertoire, including their work on the Japanese professional wrestling circuit.
Anderson and Balor were stable-mates in the ‘Bullet Club’ in Japan, and now perform in the WWE with the duo maintaining a close relationship in real-life as well.
The heart of the matter
Finn Balor recently revealed that it was Karl Anderson with whom he initially discussed the idea for the Demon gimmick. Anderson told Finn that he’d get laughed out of the building, should he choose to go forward with the Demon character.
That, in turn, got the pro-wrestling community buzzing about the aforementioned conversation between Balor & Anderson, as well as the latter’s prediction proving to be wrong, what with the tremendous success Balor has achieved with the Demon avatar.
Always one to be a good sport, Anderson addressed his failed Demon gimmick prediction—
“Friends can be honest with each other, that's a good thing. Also, I was…Uhhhhh...Obviously completely wrong. #TooSweetFergy @FinnBalor”
What’s next?
Finn Balor is presently involved in a feud with Bray Wyatt and is set to face the latter at RAW’s No Mercy PPV that goes down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on September 24th.
Author’s take
In reference to Anderson’s aforementioned reply, one ought to note that his prediction wasn’t completely wrong, in the sense that Balor’s aim was to scare fans and make them hate his character, however, the fan-reception for his Demon persona has been quite the opposite, to say the least.
The fans love Demon Balor!
I see the subtle jab right there from Anderson. The Bullet Club members surely do have a rather dry sense of humor—subtle and precise. Do you like Balor’s Demon get-up? Sound off in the comments!
