What's the story?
WWE.com have reported that Kevin Owens has left the SmackDown Live tour of Argentina and Chile for personal reasons and will not appear at the remaining events as he has already flown back home.
In case you didn't know...
On the same tour, AJ Styles missed the WWE Live event Thursday in Buenos Aries, Argentina due to a stomach illness. The WWE expects him to return on Friday for the remainder of the tour.
The heart of the matter
Owens did appear that Thursday's WWE Live event in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The events that he will not attend include Friday and Saturday in Santiago, Chile.
WWE didn't provide any further details other than that he has left the tour. WrestlingNews.co stated that in the light of stories involving Neville and Nia Jax being unhappy with their situation in the WWE, there is nothing to indicate that there is any friction between Owens and the WWE.
Take a look at WWE's official release on the matter below:
Kevin Owens left Buenos Aires today and will not appear at the remaining Live Events in Argentina and Chile this weekend, WWE.com has learned. Though Owens did perform at Luna Park for Thursday night’s Live Event in Buenos Aires, he has left before the remaining Live Event dates scheduled in Argentina for tonight, and at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, this Friday and Saturday, due to personal reasons.
What's next?
After defeating Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton on SmackDown Live this week, Owens and Sami Zayn asked SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan what's next for them. Bryan said it was not up to him, but it will be up to Commissioner Shane McMahon, who will return next week.
Expect some fireworks on the next edition of SmackDown Live which will take place at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this Tuesday.
Author's take
I will not speculate on the personal reasons that caused Owens to leave the WWE Live tour as that is his business. I hope everything is okay with Kevin and his family.
