WWE News: Kevin Owens reveals he wants to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania
Kevin Owens is the top heel on Raw. He became the beneficiary of Finn Balor’s injury and defeated Big Cass, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins to become the second (and now longest reigning) WWE Universal Champion.
His first opponent was Seth Rollins, whom he defeated at Clash Of Champions, albeit with the help of Chris Jericho. He is still feuding with Seth Rollins and it looks like their program will go on for a while longer.
Kevin Owens was on ESPN's Off The Top Rope hosted by Jonathan Coachman, and when the Coach asked The Prize Fighter if he had any targeted opponent in mind for Wrestlemania 33, he said:
"I want Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. It’s as simple as that”
Kevin Owens vs Brock Lesnar has been a feud considered a great one by many for a while. Most feel that Owens can put on a great match with The Beast Incarnate, with many believing that he should be the one to finally defeat Brock Lesnar and get the rub. Others have scratched this out as being unrealistic. Either way, Owens himself has rallied quite a while that he wants to face Lesnar at some point.
Before Wrestlemania 32, after John Cena was injured, Owens was apparently considered as an opponent for The Phenom at the grandest stage of them all, but WWE Officials did not see him on that level just yet.
Prior to the question about a Wrestlemania opponent, Coach had asked him about who he’d like to face in WWE:
“There's plenty of people. Right off the top of my head, it's hard to pick just one. But there're guys that have come up from NXT like Baron Corbin or Apollo Crews, and just the names I haven't been with, and I am looking forward to wrestling them eventually.
“Unfortunately, they are on Smackdown Live and I'm on the premier brand Raw, but eventually I'm sure we'll find each other in the same place at the same time and I'd love to get in the ring with them.”
Brock is not going to be around for the longest period of time, but there is no doubt that Owens would be a great opponent for The Beast Incarnate. If WWE really gets behind the idea that he is a credible challenger for Lesnar, a classic is guaranteed.
