WWE News: Kurt Angle competing in his first WWE live event match after 12 years
What’s the story?
Kurt Angle has taken to social media to announce that he’ll be competing in his first WWE live event match after nearly 12 years.
Angle was excited about his monumental accomplishment of returning to the WWE’s house shows for competition after such a lengthy hiatus.
In case you didn’t know…
Kurt Angle was widely regarded as one of the WWE’s biggest stars until injury issues led to his promotional departure back in 2006.
The Olympic gold medalist competed in several notable professional wrestling organisations ever since, before returning to the WWE earlier this year and being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The heart of the matter
Kurt Angle wrestled his first WWE match at the TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) PPV, filling in as a Shield member owing to the absence of Roman Reigns.
However, Angle’s latest announcement is pertaining to his match at WWE RAW’s live event in Birmingham, UK.
Furthermore, his match at the aforementioned house show will mark yet another milestone in the legend’s career, as he competes in his very first WWE house show match in about 11 years.
What’s next?
Kurt Angle is the Team Captain for the RAW Survivor Series team against their SmackDown counterparts, at the Survivor Series pay-per-view which goes down at the Target Center in Houston, Texas on November 19th.
Author’s take
Well, Kurt Angle seems to be enjoying his current WWE run, and rightfully so, given the tireless efforts he’s put in not only for the WWE, but also in other organizations.
It’s great to see the WWE utilising Kurt in a wrestling capacity, and allowing him the leisure to compete sporadically at WWE events, what with his injury issues and matters of the sort. Never change, Kurt!
