Olympic Gold Medalist and former WWE Champion Kurt Angle, who was inducted into the 2017 class of the WWE Hall of Fame recently, confirmed that he'll be making an in-ring return for the company in an interview with ESPN.
In case you didn’t know...
Kurt Angle was one of the most integral figures of the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras, who quit the company in 2006 because of a variety of health and addiction related issues and moved to TNA.
After a great career outside WWE, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame recently, fuelling speculations of an in-ring return. Until now, while he's never denied his return, he has never actually confirmed the same. Angle has publicly spoken about wanting to wrestle many WWE stars including AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Rusev, and Cesaro.
The heart of the matter
In an interview with Jonathan Coachman from ESPN, angle revealed the following:
‘I really think that Kurt Angle is not done wrestling, and I think it’s safe to say I will be wrestling back in that WWE ring again.’
He added the following:
‘I know that I’m going to have to earn their trust and I understand that, especially with the trouble that I’ve been in the past few years. The more that I show that I can be depended on, the more they are going to let me do.’
What’s next?
It is rumoured that Kurt Angle will take up a General Manager’s role in the company at first. Based on how the same goes, we can hope for a variety of dream matches from members of the current WWE roster.

Author’s take
Even now, Kurt Angle is one of the best wrestlers in the world. I cannot wait for his return. I personally hope that he goes one-on-one with AJ Styles. Their TNA matches were pure gold.
