WWE News: Kurt Angle says he will definitely return to the WWE
Dean Ambrose took the WWE by storm by winning the World Heavyweight Championship, but there’s another one brewing not too far from the mainland. With the brand split coming up, the IWC is abuzz with reports of veterans no longer with the WWE returning.
One such name, and not the least amongst them, is former WWE Champion Kurt Angle. The 47-year-old was asked on Mark Madden’s radio show recently on the possibility of him returning to the WWE. This was his reply:
“Will I return? Yes. I don't know when”
Angle said he spoke with Triple H and Vince McMahon a few weeks ago and that it was a “good conversation”. The Olympic gold medallist admitted that the possibility of him returning for one more match was brought up.
It is noteworthy that the discussion happened before the brand split was announced, so that topic wasn’t breached and he hasn’t been approached since it’s publicization. Angle was however, told that the WWE is concentrating on pushing younger talent and isn’t in the market for older wrestlers.
The 6-time WWE Champion believes that he is still capable of wrestling a match, but doesn’t plan on prolonging his in-ring career. Echoing the past, Angle said that he was open to wrestling part-time, but more inclined in managing talent, referring to former NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha by name.
