WWE News: Kurt Angle gives big update on Jason Jordan
What's the story?
WWE RAW General Manager Kurt Angle has given the WWE Universe an update as to when he expects Jason Jordan to return from a neck injury.
This came after a fan asked Kurt about Jordan in his weekly Facebook Q and A on Friday, and the six-time World Champion gave an optimistic answer.
In case you didn't know...
Angle is the storyline father of Jordan.
In January, the public domain found out that Jordan was suffering from a neck injury, deemed serious until his real-life wife revealed it was just 'minor'.
This messed up WWE's plans, with Jordan being RAW Team Champion with Seth Rollins at the time.
Jordan and Rollins dropped the Titles to The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) at the Royal Rumble PPV, with WWE citing a kayfabe head injury caused by their opponents as the reason for his absence.
We have not seen Jordan since Angle sent him home after he interfered in a Tag Team Title match, which saw Rollins and Roman Reigns take on Sheamus and Cesaro, Jordan costing the Shield brothers unintentionally.
Jordan obviously could not compete in the match and he teased being jealous of Rollins tag-teaming with his Shield buddy
The heart of the matter
Angle revealed to fans that Jordan could possibly be back from injury in the next '6-8 weeks', i.e. shortly after WrestleMania 34, which takes place from New Orleans on the 8th of April (less than a month away).
Questioned on how Jordan was doing, Angle said in full:''Jason should be ok to come back shortly after Wrestlemania but I’m being very optimistic. Hopefully he will be back in the next 6-8 weeks.''
It is of course unfortunate that Jordan will miss WrestleMania, but it is good news that he is in with a chance of returning very soon after the biggest PPV of the year.
What's next?
We already knew that Jordan was certain to miss WrestleMania 34, but if Angle is to be believed, the former American Alpha should be back a few weeks after the PPV.
Who knows what will happen when he returns, but you can be sure Rollins will be involved.
WWE has been repushing Rollins as a singles star as of late, with an Intercontinential Title Triple Threat match set for WrestleMania 34 with Finn Balor and The Miz, and although it is being teased Rollins may be moved to SmackDown Live after the show, the Monday Night Rollins moniker being so popular puts that into doubt.
Could Jordan instantly turn heel upon rearrival and attack him, or will he set sights on his father Angle.
Author's take
It is great to hear that Jordan is returning from injury in the close future. Fans have been hard on him since the Angle storyline, but that is something I believe WWE wanted, and I think if Jordan was not injured, he would have faced Rollins or Angle at WrestleMania 34.
It is also entirely possible that Jordan could return before then, and Angle is making it seem like he won't be back for a while yet.
But I'll take the word of the RAW GM for now.
What WWE have in store for Jordan when he comes back is anyone's guess.
