What's the story?

Kurt Angle was recently part of a Facebook Q&A session and answered questions on a variety of topics including who he would like to face, painful moves in wrestling and also about what he thinks about a possible Shield reunion.

In case you didn't know...

The Shield made their debut in 2012 and took the WWE by Storm, remaining undefeated for a long time.

The faction, however, came to an end in 2014 when Rollins betrayed his Shield brothers and instead joined Triple H's faction called The Authority.

Even though all three members branched out into a singles career after that, the Shield re-united in 2017 even though the reunion did not exactly go as planned. Initially, Roman could not be part of the Shield's return match at TLC PPV and had to be replaced by Kurt Angle.

Even though Roman did return, Ambrose suffered an injury and has been out of action since, leaving the reunion mid-way.

The heart of the matter

Kurt Angle stated that it is only a matter of time before we will see the three hounds of justice together again.

Here is what he said:

"The Shield has been dealing with a lot of setbacks and injuries. But they will unite again. Be patient."

What's next?

With Ambrose out due to injury, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are looking to main event WrestleMania by winning the Elimination Chamber match which will take place this Sunday guaranteeing the winner a chance to face off against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

Author's take

The Shield reunion felt cursed and did not really materialize in the way we fans wanted it to. I was under the impression that WWE may have pulled the plug on this reunion and we probably won't get to see the trio as a team again, but it looks like that is not going to be the case.
