WWE News: Kurt Angle picks his favourite to win the Women's Royal Rumble; reveals The Shield's future
What’s the story?
During a recent Facebook Live Q&A session, Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle revealed his pick to win the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match and also discussed the future of The Shield.
In case you didn’t know…
Earlier this year, at the TLC pay-per-view, former WWE World Champion Kurt Angle, made his much anticipated in-ring WWE return after an absence of 11 years when the Olympic Gold Medalist teamed up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and became an honorary member of The Shield—filling in for Roman Reigns.
On the other hand, WWE has also announced last week, that they are all set to host the first-ever female Royal Rumble match next year.
The heart of the matter
Earlier this week, Kurt Angle decided to host a live question and answers session, via his official Facebook account. And during his interaction with the WWE Universe, Angle decided to talk about a host of topics including The Shield’s future and also his favourite to win the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Angle stated that it is a very unfortunate situation that Roman Reigns is out with a sickness and it is also a very bad timing for Dean Ambrose to get sidelined due to a devastating injury, which he suffered recently.
However, according to the Raw GM, The Shield will indeed come together again and Angle also promised that there will be another reunion of “The Hounds” in the future.
“There will be another reunion. Promise,” Angle stated.
The Olympic Gold Medalist believes that the winner of the first-ever female Royal Rumble match will be Nia Jax.
"Nia Jax. Need I explain why?” Angle added.
What’s next?
Kurt Angle has already wrestled twice this year and we can surely expect to see the 49-year-old in action once again. However, Angle is currently doing his job as the GM of the red brand of WWE.
Author’s Take
I think we can surely expect to see Angle back in the ring in early 2018 and most likely in a match at Wrestlemania 34. We can also potentially witness the former 13-time World Champion teaming up with The Shield once again, in the future.
