What's the story?

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle conducted a Q&A session on his Facebook page recently with his fans. One of them asked him who he believed could win the Money in the Bank ladder match.

The name he picked was Kevin Owens. At the same time, Angle did specify that he thought that Owens was a real long shot.

In case you didn't know...

The Money in the Bank Ladder Match will take place next month, where 4 superstars from RAW and 4 superstars from SmackDown Live will compete in two gender specific ladder matches. The winner of each match, of course, wins a contract that he/she can cash in at any time on the champion for a title shot.

As the General Manager of RAW, Kurt Angle has lately been booking a multitude of Money in the Bank qualifier matches. Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Bobby Roode and Kevin Owens are the four men who have qualified from RAW.

The heart of the matter

When asked who would win the Money in the Bank ladder match, this is what Kurt Angle had to say:

Honestly? He's a long shot. But Kevin Owens. He seems to always find a way to shine.

Angle also said a few unflattering things about how Owens would sometimes suck up to authority to get things done. This is perhaps part of an ongoing storyline where Owens has been talking to Stephanie McMahon and getting favours through her, as she outranks Kurt Angle in WWE.

What's next?

There are two spots yet to be determined for Money in the Bank. These spots will be filled by SmackDown Live superstars. It's anybody's guess with regard to who will take home the prize!

Author's take

I think Owens would be perfect as Mr. Money in the Bank. I'd personally prefer The Miz with the contract, but Owens is a close second favourite.

Could he become a two time Universal Champion very soon?
