Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar had quite the rivalry to start off the latter's career...

What's the story?

Kurt Angle might be winding down in the ring, but it hasn't stopped him from reminiscing about his earlier days in his career. Angle recently answered questions during a Facebook Live session. WrestlingInc carried a report on the interview.

In case you missed it...

Angle has resurfaced in the ring again recently to tangle with Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley.

He participated in the Royal Rumble and has had matches at Survivor Series and WrestleMania since returning to the company in 2017.

The heart of the matter

Kurt Angle answered a variety of questions during the Facebook Live Q&A session, but one of the most notable questions was if he actually punched a WWE superstar in the face during a match.

"Yes. Let me see....Brock [Lesnar], [John] Cena, Shane [McMahon], and [Samoa] Joe. I've done it quite a bit - my punches can be a bit stiff...LOL. One time I hit Brock in the face, and he said to me 'Do I owe you money or something?'"

Another question he answered involved Eddie Guerrero and how Guerrero, and others like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, helped change the stereotype of smaller superstars.

"Eddie broke the barrier of being undersized and winning the World Title. He and Chris [Benoit] made a huge statement at WrestleMania 20. It was one of the greatest 'feel good' moments I've ever seen. Eddie was the most deserving of this prestigious moment, he earned it."

And one question even referred to his current time in a WWE ring, and what he felt he could still offer as an active competitor.

"I have nothing that I feel I need to accomplish, other than an amazing retirement match, whenever that is."

Reports came out this past week that Angle might be in bad shape physically, and that his last match might come at WrestleMania 35.

What's next?

With some of his comments, Angle seems like he's come to terms with calling it a career inside a wrestling ring. He's one of the all-time greats and has certainly faced his fair share of ups and downs throughout his life.

If the reports are to be believed, then we may be witnessing a legend in his final wrestling match as soon as April. Good luck, Mr. Olympic gold medallist. It appears you were able to do to Brock Lesnar what a lot of fans might want to do nowadays!
