WWE News: Kurt Angle's WrestleMania 35 opponent revealed
What's the story?
Kurt Angle has revealed his opponent for his farewell match at WrestleMania 35.
The WWE Hall of Famer will go toe to toe with Baron Corbin at MetLife Stadium on April 7th.
In case you didn't know...
Angle and Corbin haven't seen eye to eye in the past, with Corbin replacing Angle as Raw's General Manager after Angle went on a "vacation".
Angle made his return on an episode of Raw, participating in Baron Corbin's Global Battle Royal and throwing him in the end to win the whole thing. Corbin spent the next several months feuding against Braun Strowman, after costing him the Universal title at Crown Jewel.
The heart of the matter
Angle came out to the ring amidst a white-hot Chicago crowd and stated that he will be having a match next, as a part of his retirement tour.
The WWE Hall of Famer and former Olympic Gold Medallist went on to announce that he will wrestle Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35, in the final match of his career. The announcement was followed with a match pitting Angle against Chad Gable, which Angle won after applying his patented Ankle Lock on an unsuspecting Gable.
What's next?
With the wrestling extravaganza still three weeks away, Angle and Corbin will be getting plenty of TV time to build towards their eventual match at MetLife Stadium.
Angle recently did a Q&A on his official Facebook page and stated that he would want to face off against John Cena or an up and coming Superstar. Although the general consensus was that a returning John Cena would be Angle's opponent at WrestleMania, seems like we won't be getting the match after all.
