WWE News: Kurt Angle says Jason Jordan's push is going according to what Vince McMahon planned
What’s the story?
In a recent appearance on CBS’s In This Corner podcast, Monday Night Raw General Manager Kurt Angle talked about Jason Jordan’s current push and also stated that it is going the same way Vince McMahon had planned.
In case you didn’t know…
A few months ago, the WWE Universe witnessed the beginning of a very bizarre storyline when former American Alpha member Jason Jordan was drafted to Monday Night Raw and was revealed as the on-screen/kayfabe son of the current Raw GM, Kurt Angle.
Jason Jordan was first called up to the WWE main roster as part of a very uprising team, in the form of American Alpha. The duo of Chad Gable and Jason Jordan had a very formidable main roster run and also managed to win the Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles from The Wyatt Family. However, earlier in the year, the team of Jordan and Gable were disbanded due to Jordan being drafted to Raw and being revealed as Kurt Angle’s son.
The heart of the matter
Kurt Angle recently spoke with CBS’s In This Corner podcast, where he stated that everything that has occurred with Jason Jordan in the last three-four months was planned all along by Vince McMahon and this storyline is progressing exactly the way Vince McMahon wanted. Kurt also said he along with the backstage officials knew that this storyline with Jordan wasn’t going to play well with the WWE Universe and the fans would feel sick to their stomach.
The Raw GM further added that he never doubted Jason Jordan’s in-ring abilities, but he was hoping that the former Smackdown Tag Team Champion’s character was as good as his in-ring skills.
“Jason is doing a great job and he has carried the storyline very well,” Kurt Angle stated.
What’s next?
On this week’s episode of Raw, Jason Jordan won the Raw Tag Team Championships along with Seth Rollins and in doing so, Jordan became the first ever superstar in WWE history to win the NXT, Smackdown and Raw Tag Team Titles.
Author’s Take
I think Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins are a very unusual tag team, however, the two men definitely have a uniqueness to them and certainly have chemistry inside the ring.
