In case you didn’t know...
Kurt Angle lit up the WWE Universe during WrestleMania week, with his Hall of Fame induction being topped only by his appearance on Monday Night Raw as the new GM of the show. Many fans are hoping that the Wrestling Machine will strap on his singlet one more time and have one final match for the company before finally retiring at some point in 2018.
The heart of the matter
As many people are aware, Angle was addicted to painkillers towards the end of his WWE run, with the issue getting to the point where Vince McMahon had to intervene. The boss had always been close with Kurt, and the following are quotes given by the former World Champion himself.
"I thought I was a liability to that company, and I think he felt that way. He was trying to help me, and I didn't want his help."
What’s next?
Angle continues to impress in his role as Raw GM, with his highly anticipated WWE 24 episode set to be released at some point in the near future. Author’s take
It’s great to see that Vince helped Kurt out as much as he possibly could, but it isn’t all too surprising. After all, the company have shown in the past that they are more than willing to assist former employees with their recovery which is one of the best traits of WWE. Plus, Angle and McMahon always had a close relationship which is why we were so surprised when John Cena was chosen to induct the Olympic Gold Medallist into the Hall of Fame.
