WWE News: Kurt Angle teases World title run in WWE
What’s the story?
Kurt Angle has taken to social media so as to tease a World title run in the WWE.
Apparently, Angle posted a throwback to his 2006 World Heavyweight Championship win; alluding to him chasing a World title in WWE very soon. Fans can check out the post below—
In case you didn’t know…
Kurt Angle has won world titles, the world over, in several professional wrestling promotions including WWE, NJPW, and TNA (now-Impact Wrestling) to name a few.
Back on the January 10th, 2006 episode of SmackDown, Angle returned to the show, and came into the 20-man Battle Royal for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship as a surprise entrant.
The heart of the matter
Kurt Angle has taken to Twitter so as to recall his historic victory, which took place on the aforementioned 2006 episode of SmackDown, as Angle eliminated Mark Henry to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.
Angle captioned the post in an intriguing manner; pointing out that this was his last World title win in WWE, 12 years ago.
Furthermore, Angle put forth a rhetorical question, stating—“Do I have one more left in me?” He added that we’ll see if that’s the case.
What’s next?
Kurt Angle presently serves as the General Manager of the WWE’s RAW brand. Angle made his in-ring return in WWE, replacing an ill Roman Reigns at the TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) PPV last year, and also competed at a few other house shows and pay-per-view presentations that ensued.
Nevertheless, the Olympic Gold Medalist is yet to lace up his boots in 2018—with most professional wrestling experts speculating that Angle could be involved in a feud with Triple H leading up to Wrestlemania 34.
Author’s take
Kurt Angle is an athletic specimen and tales of his valor and hard work have been narrated by many over the course of his long and storied pro-wrestling career.
Here’s hoping Angle gets one more run with a World title in WWE. Be it the WWE Championship or the Universal title, they could be up for grabs, Kurt.
