What’s the story?

Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle has taken to social media to shoot a rather subtle jab at SmackDown Live GM Daniel Bryan.

On that note, the RAW GM made a reference to SmackDown Superstar Kevin Owens downing Vince McMahon with a brutal headbutt, asserting that the McMahon/KO incident wouldn’t have transpired on RAW under Angle’s watch.

In case you didn’t know…

Vince McMahon returned to WWE TV programming on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, in a segment that saw him confront Kevin Owens in relation to the latter’s ongoing feud with Shane McMahon.

It was on the aforementioned ‘Sin City’ edition of SmackDown that Owens knocked Vince down with a vicious headbutt which cut the latter open.

Owens then repeatedly attacked McMahon, following which the bloodied and battered WWE boss were escorted backstage by WWE officials and Stephanie McMahon.

The heart of the matter

The professional wrestling community has been hotly debating the aforementioned segment between McMahon and Owens, with the vast majority of fans hailing it as one of the most entertaining things to have transpired in the WWE as of late.

On that note, the red brand’s on-screen General Manager Kurt Angle has chimed in with his two cents as well:

“The headbutt heard around the world. This would never have occurred on my show, under my watch. #Itstrue”

Apparently, Angle seems to be of the view that the McMahon/KO headbutt incident wouldn’t have been allowed to get out of control on his show, under his watch; unlike on SmackDown where the blue brand’s GM Daniel Bryan let the drawn out attack go through despite having been present backstage at the time.

What’s next?

Vince McMahon has now re-instated Shane as the Commissioner of SmackDown Live, besides booking a Hell In A Cell match at the PPV of the same name; between Shane O’Mac and Kevin Owens.

Fans can expect the WWE to prominently highlight the Owens vs McMahon rivalry on its Tuesday night flagship show in the weeks to come.

Author’s take

Both Kevin Owens and Vince McMahon were excellent in this week’s Sin City SD episode.

Kudos to Vince for taking a monstrous headbutt and multiple significant bumps at his age! This is exactly the feud that WWE needs to draw in the fans and battle the company’s post-Wrestlemania lull.
