WWE News: KUSHIDA is heading to WWE 205 Live
What's the story
Yujiro KUSHIDA will be making his way to the WWE via the 205 Live roster very soon, as he appears to the latest acquisition for the WWE and could give the Cruiserweight Division a big boost!
In case you didn't know...
Yujiro KUSHIDA is a former NJPW star, who recently became a free agent after nearly ten years wrestling with New Japan. He is a former 6-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, a 2-time IWGP Junior Tag Team Heavyweight Champion with ROH and Impact Wrestling alumni Alex Shelley.
He is also the winner of the Super J Cup of 2016. His final match for NJPW came at Wrestle Kingdom XIII when he lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to Taiji Ishimori. He formally announced his departure from NJPW on January 7th.
The heart of the matter
Solowrestling.com, via their Twitter page, has announced that KUSHIDA has apparently signed a deal with the WWE and will be heading to be a part of the Cruiserweight Division in 205 Live. The tweet was sent out earlier this morning.
What's next
No word as of yet on when exactly KUSHIDA would be making his roster debut at this time, outside of the tweet mentioned above making the announcement from KUSHIDA himself. WWE should be making preparations for his official arrival to the company and to the brand sooner than later. He's going to be a major part of the 205 Live roster, going forward. Some may say he's too big of a star for the 205 Live brand. However, having him as a part of their roster is a big deal that should be taken seriously.
