WWE News: Lars Sullivan sends a message to the NXT roster
What’s the story?
Following his impressive win against Kassius Ohno at NXT Takeover: WarGames, Lars Sullivan was interviewed backstage at the Toyota Center.
During his interview, Sullivan was asked to give his take and reactions on how he felt about his win over Ohno in front of the Houston crowd.
In case you didn’t know…
Lars Sullivan is one of the most talented big men in the current NXT roster and is also an up and coming superstar in the company. Sullivan is a dominant in-ring performer who has built a reputation of destroying his opponents during his matches.
However, in a recent episode of NXT— prior to Takeover: WarGames, Sullivan was challenged by Kassius Ohno to a match in Houston, Texas. Ohno, who has been picking up a few wins lately. He claimed that he wanted to make an example out of Sullivan and continue to gain further momentum by defeating NXT’s behemoth. NXT General Manager William Regal then went on to confirm the match between the two men.
During Takeover: WarGames, Lars Sullivan defeated Kassius Ohno in a back and forth match. Ohno put up a valiant effort on the night and tried to defeat Sullivan, but, failed to do so as Sullivan picked up the win after hitting the Freak Accident.
The heart of the match
Following his win, Sullivan was interviewed in the backstage area where he was asked about his victory over Ohno, to which he replied that the victory felt pretty good to him, despite the fact that he got kicked in the face “50 times” by Ohno. Sullivan also added that he took Ohno’s kicks like a man.
Sullivan then stated that tonight was just the beginning of his journey as he was put through his first Takeover event, in which he succeeded and dominated completely.
He then sent a message to the rest of the NXT locker room by saying that if anyone wants to step in Sullivan’s way then they will get destroyed by his hands only.
What’s next?
Lars Sullivan is the man to be feared in NXT right now and it will be interesting to see who steps up to challenge this freak athlete next. As for Sullivan, he made a solid example earlier today by defeating Ohno which was also his first Takeover win.
Author’s Take
In my opinion, Sullivan should next be challenged by the undefeated Aleister Black. The two men could play out the “David vs Goliath” storyline and could provide the WWE Universe with another great match at the next Takeover event.
