What's the story?

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is only four weeks away, and stars have been adding their names to the Royal Rumble matches. The latest addition to the Men's Royal Rumble match is a huge one, as "The Lone Wolf", Baron Corbin, confirmed that he would be a part of it.

In case you didn't know...

"The Lone Wolf" was the holder of the United States Title, until recently, when he lost it to Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat Title match. Dolph went on to apparently relinquish the title and walk out of SmackDown Live, on the first SmackDown after winning the Championship.

The New United States Champion was set to be decided in a tournament for the title. Baron Corbin faced Bobby Roode in a first-round match of the tournament and was unable to pick up a victory.

The heart of the matter

Baron Corbin announced that he would take part in the Men's Royal Rumble match in a direct to camera promo.

Corbin has had some experience in Royal Rumbles and was a winner of the 'Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal' in his main roster debut. He also lasted for 32 minutes in the previous year's Royal Rumble match and notably eliminated Braun Strowman.

Corbin went on to talk about his participation on Twitter, saying others had taken away everything he earned the previous year. He promised to take away everyone's hopes and dreams and secure his spot for the main event of Wrestlemania by winning the Rumble.

What's next?

With Cena, Balor, Orton, Elias and Nakamura already announced for the match this year, the Men's Royal Rumble match is starting to shape up with the latest addition of Corbin.

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is set to take place on the 28th of January, and will also feature, the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match.

Author's take

At this current moment, given his luck, Corbin is unlikely to win the Men's Royal Rumble match. It is never possible to tell which way WWE will go with the Rumble, however, and it is impossible to discount the Lone Wolf's chances completely.
