WWE News: Lesnar's opponent for SummerSlam revealed
Ever since the news about Brock stepping back in the Octagon broke out, the news about Brock has been grabbing headlines in the sports circles. WWE upped the ante by informing that Lesnar will fight at SummerSlam just one month after his UFC return. Though many speculated that Lesnar getting knocked out by Hunt would hurt his legitimacy in the squared circle, WWE gave it no heed.
With Lesnar’s UFC debut drawing closer, WWE announced that Lesnar’s opponent will be revealed on this week’s SmackDown. But, there was no announcement made during the taping of the SmackDown. Amidst many speculations on who Lesnar’s opponent will be, it is now finally revealed that Lesnar will be facing The Viper, Randy Orton at SummerSlam.
Orton has been rumoured to be Lesnar’s opponent for the past one week. We reported earlier that Orton is the most likely opponent that Lesnar will face at SummerSlam and to add legitimacy to that rumour, Wrestlingic.com reports that Aftermath TV on SportsNet in Canada revealed that Orton will be Lesnar’s opponent at SummerSlam.
Orton is scheduled to return from his injury soon and he is booked for WWE Live Events starting in August. It will be interesting to see if Orton’s shoulder will be 100 percent heading into SummerSlam. Considering the fact that he will be facing The Beast, let’s pray that Orton makes a full recovery before his return.
