WWE News: The live crowd did not enjoy the House Of Horrors match
What’s the story?
As reported by Ringside News, the live crowd at WWE Payback didn’t hold back when it came to letting the company know that they didn’t enjoy the House Of Horrors bout. The match was contested by Randy Orton and his former leader Bray Wyatt.
In case you didn’t know...
Fans had been anticipating the House of Horrors match for weeks, with nobody being quite sure as to what was going to transpire. It seemed for the longest time as if the WWE Championship would be up for grabs in what would’ve been Wyatt’s rematch. However, it turned out to be a non-title bout with the Eater of Worlds picking up the win courtesy of interference from Jinder Mahal.

As seen in the video, the fans in attendance at the SAP Center in San Jose weren’t very receptive to the fact that some of the match had been pre-taped. Despite this being filmed prior to them entering the actual arena, “this is boring” chants broke out with audible boos being heard as well. The response to the actual finish of the match was quite mixed.

What’s next?
The Viper will now be preparing to defend his WWE Championship against Jinder Mahal at Backlash; meanwhile, Bray Wyatt will start life on Monday Night Raw with a bit of momentum. His rumoured feud moving forward will apparently be against Finn Balor. However, there’s also the possibility of plans switching in order for him to face Dean Ambrose instead.
Author’s take
It’ll be interesting to see how this match is received upon watching it back over the next few days, but we personally enjoyed it upon the initial viewing. Sure it was silly at times, and some of it didn’t make much sense, but that’s part of Wyatt’s charm. We can understand why the people in the arena wouldn’t have been crazy for it though, especially considering how much they probably paid for their tickets.
