WWE News: Location for Royal Rumble 2017 possibly revealed?
Allwrestlingnews.com reports that WWE has revealed the location for their next annual Royal Rumble PPV. It was announced during a Live Event last Saturday that the 2017 version of the event will be held in Los Angeles.
Although, no official announcement has been made by WWE so far, and as of now there is no news on when the tickets for the show will go on sale. The date of the event is also not known yet.
This is going to be the first Royal Rumble after the announced Brand Split which will happen after SmackDown goes live on July 19th. It will be interesting to see if WWE will bring back the old stipulation for the winner of the Royal Rumble match. Previously the winner of Royal Rumble was allowed to face any champion of his choice at the biggest annual PPV of WWE- WrestleMania. This stipulation was removed when WWE combined the World Heavyweight Championship to the WWE Championship.
It's notable that Los Angeles has also hosted the 12th edition of the traditional PPV back in 1999. It's the same year when WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon won the Royal Rumble match by eliminating The Texas Rattlesnake "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to win the WWF Championship. This is also going to be the first Royal Rumble in California since 2005.
