WWE News: Luke Harper is reportedly headed for a return

Luke Harper has been the work horse of The Wyatt Family

Luke Harper is considered to be one of the most underrated and underutilized performers in WWE. He is an absolutely tremendous talent and has been the workhorse of The Wyatt Family. The Wyatts were coming up on an interesting role but before Wrestlemania, Luke Harper suffered a torn ACL and has been out of action since.

It was extremely bad timing with The Wyatt Family going babyface after Mania. However, even that came to a screeching halt with Bray Wyatt’s injury. It appears that The Wyatt Family just can’t catch a break. So far, Braun Strowman has been the only member of The Wyatt Family who has not been injured. But perhaps that could be attributed to his work style in the ring.

Luke Harper said that he wasn’t pleased about the fact that he was not drafted, but no one could blame the WWE as they had not drafted any injured or part-time superstars (barring Brock Lesnar).

Recently, Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet reported that Luke Harper had been cleared to return prior to Backlash and was training at the WWE Performance Center.

The question looming since the draft with regards to Harper was where he would be drafted. Braun Strowman was separated from The Wyatt Family and went to Raw while Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan went to Smackdown Live. It was reported by Wrestlezone that Harper is being advertised for future Raw events. This is a direct indicator that Harper will be going to Monday Night Raw.

There is no doubt that someone of Harper’s abilities would benefit far more from going to Smackdown Live, as they have proven in the last nine weeks that they are able to utilise their limited rosters far better than Raw, where talents tend to be either overexposed or underused.

It would be interesting to see where exactly his position would be once he makes his return. His former fellow Wyatt Family member Braun Strowman is getting a gradual push right now doing squash matches week after week. He only recently started his first real singles feud with Sin Cara. Harper could be a solid addition to the midcard, and could perhaps even get a push and a United States Championship run down the line. He is a former Intercontinental Champion
