WWE News: Major backstage concern over Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series

Will Golberg vs Lesnar 2 flop?

According to All Wrestling NewsWWE backstage officials are worried that Goldberg will be booed at Survivor Series in Toronto. Going into the match, Goldberg is the clear babyface and Brock Lesnar is the clear heel.

One of the reasons for this concern is that Brock Lesnar is a resident of Canada, living in Maryfield in the Saskatchewan province of Canada.

Another major factor that some people believe may have fans in Canada souring on Goldberg is the fact that Bret Hart’s career ended at his hands. Goldberg himself addressed the situation and said that he would never have intentionally done that to someone, and it is something he has to live with.

Another possible reason the concern has grown is Paul Heyman’s promo with Brock Lesnar on Monday Night Raw in Minnesota, where Heyman cut a promo, doing his best to try to get the crowd to chant "Goldberg". However, the crowd chanted “Goldberg sucks” and “Suplex City” instead.

Goldberg himself spoke about that in an interview on the Cheap Heat podcast of ESPN, simply asking how one could expect them to boo Lesnar, in his hometown, where he is a national wrestling champion. He stated that he is not afraid to get booed and that the crowd can cheer whoever they want to.

Regardless, WWE is still pushing fans in Toronto to cheer the returning Goldberg.

Reports in the past stated that while it is a one-off deal, for now, the reaction he gets in Toronto, will determine whether WWE will bring him back for further matches.

This past week on Raw, Goldberg laid waste to Rusev and Paul Heyman.
