WWE News: Major spoiler for The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler's Title vs Career match at No Mercy
While there’s a lot of intrigue going into the Intercontinental title match at WWE SmackDown Live’s No Mercy PPV all due to the high stakes stipulation, it seems WWE may have destroyed all of it by giving away the eventual outcome.
WWE sent a No Mercy preview to cable and satellite companies that blatantly mentions Ziggler’s WWE exit.
Here is the preview: “A recap of No Mercy, including the three-way battle for world champion; and a look at Dolph Ziggler’s exit from WWE.”
This coincides with Ric Flair’s revelation about Ziggler and status in the WWE. The Nature Boy divulged on his podcast that he’d heard backstage speculation about Ziggler calling it time on his in-ring career in the WWE.
He added that Ziggler is reportedly up for a backstage role with the WWE and that the show-off intends on completing the remaining time in his multi-year deal. Ziggler signed a new deal last year which makes him ineligible to compete outside of the WWE until it comes to an end. His budding stand-up career is also a supporting factor towards his WWE exit. The current stipulation clearly states that Ziggler cannot move to RAW or NXT if he loses at No Mercy.
A future return to the blue brand has also been barred, pretty much stacking the odds against him even more. Thus, No Mercy could be the last time we see the former World Heavyweight Champion inside a WWE ring. While a majority of the fans wouldn’t be too happy seeing Ziggler sign off with an underachieving career, many would be pleased to see Ziggler end his misery for good.
He's shown interest in pursuing a career as a political analyst and has featured on Fox Business with Lisa Kennedy to share his views on Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. That doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Ziggler, as pro wrestling is all about the unpredictability and a major swerve could just be around the corner.
