WWE News: Major street fight takes place after RAW

Wyatt and Bálor did battle once again after RAW went off the air
Wyatt and Bálor did battle once again after RAW went off the air

What's the story?

Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt did battle in the dark match following WWE RAW last night, with the match being contested under street fight rules. Finn Bálor came out on top to send the Memphis crowd home happy.

In case you didn't know...

Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt moved to RAW as part of the post-WrestleMania Superstar Shake-Up and immediately targeted the freshly returned Finn Bálor. It seemed for all the world as though a feud was to begin between the two, but for reasons that were never completely explained Wyatt moved into a feud with Seth Rollins instead.

With Rollins behind him, Wyatt refocused his attention on Bálor. The Eater of Worlds was able to get the best of the Irishman for a number of weeks, forcing Bálor to bring The Demon out at SummerSlam in order to defeat Bray.

The feud is seemingly going to continue, as Bray caused Finn's elimination from the Intercontinental Championship number one contender battle royal last night on RAW. The battle royal was eventually won by Jeff Hardy.

The heart of the matter

Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt resumed their conflict after last night's show went off the air, going one-on-one in a street fight. The two men went at it straight away, Wyatt getting the early advantage as expected. It wasn't to be, however, and Bálor picked up the win after hitting the Coup de Grace on the New Face of Fear.

The win continues Bálor's dominance over Bray in non-televised matches. The man from the town of Bray now has eight wins compared to the man called Bray's one, with Bálor victorious in all tag matches between the two as well.

This is generally to be expected as house shows are always very babyface-heavy, and it is no surprise for Bray Wyatt to lose the majority of his matches. The Eater of Worlds ended last night staring at the lights one more time.

What's next

It was Wyatt who caused Bálor's elimination from the battle royal last night, so one would expect Finn to respond in some manner next week on RAW. It would be nice to see both men move onto new things, but there may be more mileage in this feud yet.

Author's take

Can Bray Wyatt turn face already? It has been 12 months since Bray seemed to be on the cusp of a big turn, a turn that never came. Things seemed to be looking up earlier in the year when he won the WWE Championship, but as we head into September he is back to his status as a somewhat directionless heel.

Both men deserve better than what they are getting from the creative team right now.
