WWE News: Major update on Triple H's in-ring future
What's the story?
Multi-time WWE World Champion and WWE COO, Triple H has been reportedly cleared to make an in-ring comeback, as WWE gets set to kick-start the Road To WrestleMania 35 this weekend with the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
In case you didn't know...
Several rumors have reportedly suggested that 14-time WWE World Champion, Triple H was initially set for a huge singles match at this year's WrestleMania. However, at last year's Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia, disaster struck as 'The Game' suffered an unfortunate injury.
During a tag team showdown between the reunited D-Generation X and The Brothers of Destruction in Saudi Arabia, Triple H tore a pectoral muscle and eventually underwent surgery which reportedly put him out of action for several months, putting his status for WrestleMania 35 in question.
The heart of the matter
While speaking on a media call ahead of NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, Triple H confirmed that he has been medically cleared to make a return to in-ring competition once again, as he stated that he has been given the green light to start training once again and further noted that he is definitely feeling very good. 'The Game' stated the following:
"I just got cleared to actually start training. Anyone that’s had a serious injury knows the difference between rehabbing a couple of hours a day and actually training. The difference is trying to get better vs. actually bettering yourself. So, I just got clearance to start training and I’m excited about that as I sit here right now extremely sore from that training. It was one week ago I got the clearance so the training has already been stepped up. But I’m feeling good.”
In addition, a report via Cultaholic also confirmed that the former WWE World Champion, has indeed been cleared to make a return to in-ring action and that too ahead of WrestleMania 35. As of now, it looks like the reported singles match between 'The Game' and his former Evolution stablemate Batista is once again back on the cards.
Triple H and Batista had initially teased a match on the SmackDown 1000th episode special when things got a bit too awkward during the Evolution reunion on the blue brand and ever since then, reports of 'The Game' squaring off against 'The Animal' have surfaced online.
In another recent tweet, Batista also continued teasing a potential return to the WWE and in doing so, 'The Animal' kept his hopes alive of a potential clash against 'The Game'.
What's next?
WrestleMania 35 is still a few months away, however, the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place on the 27th of January in Phoenix, Arizona. With the 30-man Royal Rumble match approaching, it'll be interesting to see if 'The Animal' returns to the ring or not.
