WWE News: Many big names missing from the week's 25th Anniversary of Raw

Many names have been forgotten from next week's celebrations
Many names have been forgotten for next week's Raw celebrations

What's the story?

WWE celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw next week and has already announced that there will be a number of legends in attendance for the event. The likes of Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Eric Bischoff, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, DX, The Godfather, and even The Dudley Boys will all be in attendance next week. But it seems that whilst WWE is happy promoting these big names, there are a few who have been forgotten.

In case you didn't know...

Monday Night Raw began broadcasting back in January 1993 and have celebrated their landmark achievements over the past few years; so it makes sense that the company will want to put on a huge celebratory episode next week as well.

Celebrating 25 years of broadcasting on live tv is a fantastic achievement for any company and it seems that WWE wants to mark this occasion in style. With the Women's Royal Rumble coming up and a number of legends expected to be part of the event, the likes of Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, Torrie Wilson, Terri Runnels, and Jacqueline were the latest guests announced on Raw last night to be in attendance for the show.

The heart of the matter

Even though all of the news has been concentrated on the names who have been announced for the show, there are a number of names who haven't been added to the event that many fans thought they would be seeing.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Edge will not be in attendance next Monday night since he is out of the country, whilst his longtime teammate Christian is also rumored to have not been asked to appear either.

Other names that have seemingly been forgotten include WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart and former World Champion Rey Mysterio. Batista is another star who has expressed interest in a return but isn't a name that has been announced ahead of the event.

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was rumored to have been part of the show but he recently told fans that he will be watching Raw 25 from home, whilst Jeff Hardy is still out injured. Speculation has suggested that The Rock will be part of the show but only in a pre-taped segment or via satellite since he currently has quite a hectic schedule.

What's next?

It is entirely feasible that WWE could add more names to the show in the coming days, but since many of the main stars of the show have already been announced it could be that WWE has already finalized the list of appearances for the special edition.

It is also worth noting that Trish Stratus and Lita weren't announced alongside the rest of the women on last night's Raw, but this could be because WWE still wants to keep some of the guests as surprises. Raw's 25th Anniversary will be streamed live next Monday Night from both the Barclays Centre and The Manhattan Centre in New York.

Author's take

There are a number of legends who have seemingly been omitted from next week's celebrations. It seemed as though WWE were promoting everyone who had agreed to be part of the show on last night's episode including Chris Jericho who seemingly hadn't even agreed. So either all of the above names are yet to confirm their attendance or they have reasons why they don't want to be part of the celebrations.
